Dubai Airport for 10 unexpected hours!

Hello all,  I was able to convert the blogger page from arabic to english, otherwise you would have a post you wouldn't be able to read.  We hovered over Dubai last night with a long line of aircraft, our pilot realized he wouldn't have enough fuel so he diverted to Abu Dhabi, refuelled, then back to Dubai, arriving too late for us to catch our connection.  So we walked the many km of the airport to line up in 2 different lines to re-book our flights (now going at 1:15 pm instead of 10 am). We were able to get Lufthansa to give us a few hours in their lounge as compensation for missing the flight.... so we have our feet up, haven't slept flat for nearly 2 nights now... it will turn out to be 37 hours of travel by the time we arrive.

We loved Frankfurt, as we had a 7 hour layover between flights and took the train downtown, really beautiful.  We wandered into 3 churches, that were open to the public, as it was so cold, it felt good to warm up.  The interiors were so beautiful.... as well as the architecture downtown.

  1. It truly is a small world. This is the exact same square we were in last year.

    Great Travels,
